10 Easy Things to Declutter after The Holidays
After the holidays it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the rainbow of emotions this season brings and also the amount of stuff in our homes.
One of the simplest ways to reset your emotions is to reset your environment.
Here’s a quick list of 10 simple things to declutter:
❄️ Outdated Holiday Decorations ❄️
Start the new year fresh by letting go of any holiday decorations that didn’t make it up this year, are broken, or no longer spark joy.
❄️ Gift Wrapping Supplies ❄️
Pare down your stash of wrapping paper, bows, and gift bags. Keep only what you love and will realistically use next year.
❄️ Unwanted Gifts ❄️
It's okay to let go of gifts that don't suit your taste or lifestyle. Donate them to someone who will truly appreciate them.
❄️ Old Calendars and Planners ❄️
Out with the old, in with the new! Recycle last year’s calendars and start fresh.
❄️ Expired Holiday Treats ❄️
Clear out any holiday-specific food items or treats that won't be good by next season.
❄️ Mismatched Ornaments ❄️
If you have ornaments that no longer match your holiday theme, consider donating them to a local school, church, or thrift store.
❄️ Old Electronics ❄️
Received the latest gadgets as gifts? Now's the perfect time to responsibly recycle or donate your old ones.
❄️ Excess Kitchen Gadgets ❄️
Kitchen tools and gadgets that were once helpful but are now rarely used can take up valuable space. Donate them to clear your kitchen clutter.
❄️ Holiday Cards ❄️
Enjoy them one last time, then recycle. If there are any you can’t bear to part with, consider repurposing them into gift tags or keepsakes.
❄️ Winter Clothing ❄️
Post-holiday is a great time to assess your winter wardrobe. Donate or sell items that no longer fit or haven't been worn this season.
You’ll be surprised how much better you’ll feel after a quick declutter! As you create more space in your home, you’ll find you start to create more space in your life. Wishing you a beautiful start to your New Year!
