After the holidays it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the rainbow of emotions this season brings and also the amount of stuff in our homes.
One of the simplest ways to reset your emotions is to reset your environment.
Here’s a quick list of 10 simple things to declutter:
❄️ Outdated Holiday Decorations ❄️
Start the new year fresh by letting go of any holiday decorations that didn’t make it up this year, are broken, or no longer spark joy.
❄️ Gift Wrapping Supplies ❄️
Pare down your stash of wrapping paper, bows, and gift bags. Keep only what you love and will realistically use next year.
❄️ Unwanted Gifts ❄️
It's okay to let go of gifts that don't suit your taste or lifestyle. Donate them to someone who will truly appreciate them.
❄️ Old Calendars and Planners ❄️
Out with the old, in with the new! Recycle last year’s calendars and start fresh.
❄️ Expired Holiday Treats ❄️
Clear out any holiday-specific food items or treats that won't be good by next season.
❄️ Mismatched Ornaments ❄️
If you have ornaments that no longer match your holiday theme, consider donating them to a local school, church, or thrift store.
❄️ Old Electronics ❄️
Received the latest gadgets as gifts? Now's the perfect time to responsibly recycle or donate your old ones.
❄️ Excess Kitchen Gadgets ❄️
Kitchen tools and gadgets that were once helpful but are now rarely used can take up valuable space. Donate them to clear your kitchen clutter.
❄️ Holiday Cards ❄️
Enjoy them one last time, then recycle. If there are any you can’t bear to part with, consider repurposing them into gift tags or keepsakes.
❄️ Winter Clothing ❄️
Post-holiday is a great time to assess your winter wardrobe. Donate or sell items that no longer fit or haven't been worn this season.
You’ll be surprised how much better you’ll feel after a quick declutter! As you create more space in your home, you’ll find you start to create more space in your life. Wishing you a beautiful start to your New Year!
If you’re looking for some more quick wins, join me on January 15th at 12pm CST for my free “Clear The Clutter” Challenge where we’ll be decluttering 3 spaces in 3 days. For more details and to save your spot click here.

Amidst the busyness of this season, it's crucial to carve out time for self-care. Taking care of yourself is not a luxury but a necessity for your overall well-being. To support you on this journey, I encourage you to create your very own self-care toolkit—a collection of activities, practices, and inspiration that nourish your mind, body, and soul.
Let's explore 7 ideas to help create your own self-care toolkit:
Journaling
Writing down your thoughts, feelings, and dreams can be incredibly therapeutic. Set aside time to journal regularly, allowing yourself to reflect, release emotions, and gain clarity.
Tip: Try a brain dump before bed to help release those nagging thoughts and create a more peaceful sleep.
Meditation and Mindfulness
Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine. Whether it's through meditation, deep breathing exercises, or simply being fully present in the moment, mindfulness can help reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and promote relaxation.
Tip: Try five breaths when you wake up or when you go to bed at night. It's a small but mighty reset for your nervous system.
Pampering Rituals
Treat yourself to soothing and indulgent rituals. Take long baths with bath salts, light scented candles, or apply a face mask for a mini-spa day at home. These simple acts of self-care can rejuvenate your body and spirit.
Tip: Plan for just one small activity that feels relaxing and indulgent, especially during a week that feels extra stressful.
Movement and Exercise
Engage in physical activities that energize and strengthen your body. Find exercises you enjoy, such as yoga, dancing, jogging, or taking walks in nature. Remember, movement not only benefits your physical health but also improves your mood and mental well-being.
Tip: Set a timer for 10 minutes and just move, you may even feel like continuing after some of those endorphins hit.
Reading for Pleasure
Escape into the pages of a new book or explore genres that pique your interest. Reading not only provides an escape from daily pressures but also stimulates your mind and expands your knowledge.
Tip: Take a break from parenting books and read a fun novel just for you.
Connect with Nature
Spending time in nature has numerous benefits for your well-being. Take walks in the park, go hiking, have picnics, or simply sit outside and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. Nature has a way of grounding us and replenishing our energy.
Tip: I've read that walking barefoot in grass at the end of your day helps to ground you and release some energetic toxins. Regardless, it feels relaxing and gives you a few minutes to enjoy the sounds of nature.
Time for Relationships
Nurture your relationships by setting aside quality time for your loved ones. Make time for a girls lunch, plan a date night, or call a friend on the phone. Connecting with those who uplift and support you is essential for your emotional well-being.
Tip: We need 4 hugs a day to for emotional and physical survival, so the more time you can connect with others the healthier you will feel.
Remember self-care is not selfish, it's an investment in your well-being which will always positively impact your family.
If you’d like more personalized support, schedule a complimentary call with me. I’d love nothing more than to help make this season more life-giving for you and your family.

As the days grow shorter and the leaves begin to fall, it's the perfect time to embrace the beauty of creating lasting family traditions.
Whether your children are still in diapers or navigating the stormy waters of adolescence, building meaningful rituals can strengthen your bond and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Here are some practical tips to help you establish cherished family traditions that cater to children of all ages…
Storytime Sundays
Gather your little ones for a cozy reading session every Sunday evening. Choose age-appropriate books for your kids, and let each family member take turns reading aloud. It's a great way to instill a love for books and spend quality time together.
Family Meetings
Gather your teens and younger children for a weekly family meeting. This is a great opportunity for everyone to discuss their feelings, share their thoughts, and collaborate on decisions, fostering communication and understanding.
Adventure Jar
Create a jar filled with different family adventures or activities written on slips of paper. Each weekend, a family member gets to draw a random slip, and you all embark on that adventure together. From picnics in the park to exploring a new hiking trail, it's an exciting way to keep things spontaneous.
Mealtime Moments
Make dinnertime special by designating one night a week for themed family dinners. From Taco Tuesdays to Italian Thursdays, let your kids help plan and cook the meals. This tradition encourages their involvement in the kitchen and strengthens their culinary skills.
Gratitude Journal
Start a family gratitude journal where everyone shares something they are thankful for each day. As your children grow, this tradition will help foster a positive mindset and teach them the importance of gratitude.
Seasonal Scavenger Hunts
No matter the age of your children, seasonal scavenger hunts are always a hit. Create age-appropriate lists of things to find, and explore your neighborhood or local parks to keep everyone engaged and excited.
Memory Box
Set up a memory box for your family, where each member can contribute keepsakes from special occasions throughout the year. You could revisit all the sweet moments of the past year as you celebrate Christmas or New Year's.
Building traditions will help cultivate trust, safety, communication, and fun in your family. You get to write the rules, but the most important thing is the time spent together and the memories you create.

🎄 Make Your Own Fun 🎄
This might surprise you but for a hot minute, I was making and selling my own play-dough.
I am not a crafty person by nature, but when we homeschooled our two boys for 4 years, I definitely had to flex some new creativity muscles.
One of our favorite things to do was make our own play-dough together.
This recipe is super easy and there are lots of ways to incorporate a little holiday flavor.
Add-ins: Essential oils, glitter, food dye, and spices (cinnamon + nutmeg are my faves)
Play items: Flour rollers, cookie cutters, mini-trees, sticks, play-dough stamps, glass beads.
Pro Tip: If you're going to use food dye, be sure to add it to the hot water first and then mix into the dry ingredients. Less likely to dye your hands.
🎄 Evening Strolls 🎄
The weather is finally cooling off here in Texas and with the time change, it's getting darker a lot sooner.
We love going for evening walks with our pup, Scout, and now there's an added bonus of seeing all the pretty Christmas lights.
You could go for a little stroll after dinner and maybe even heat up some hot cocoa for a fun after-dinner treat.
Pro Tip: Simplify your bedtime routine and have your kids put on their pajamas for the walk so they can roll right into bed once you get home.
🎄 Family Movie Nights 🎄
During covid we started a much-loved tradition of Friday movie nights. We order take-out and pick a movie (we can mostly agree on).
This time of year is my favorite because we watch ALL the Christmas movies!
You could make it extra special and add a little popcorn + mix in some M&M's. You'll thank me later.
Pro Tip: Make your Christmas movie play-list ahead of time to cut down on the scrolling and squabbling.
🎄 Kids Run The Show 🎄
I don't know about your kids, but mine are such hams. They love any excuse to share a song they're learning, bust out some dance moves, or recreate their favorite Bluey show.
So have a little fun with this and encourage your kids to put on a holiday show. You could invite friends to get in on the fun too!
This can be as simple or as elaborate as they want. Costumes, multiple acts, and props are always encouraged in our home.
The real intention is to foster their creativity and independence.
Pro Tip: Children delight in showing off all their hard work, so make a plan to share their performance with your family and friends.
🎄 Fireside Readings 🎄
In Austin, we maybe have 20 really cold days out of the whole year. But whether it's 70 degrees or 40 degrees outside, we use our fireplace a lot in the winter months.
One of my absolute favorite things is lighting the fire, have all of us pile onto the couch, burrow under all the furry blankets, and get lost in our books.
We love to read as a family, and this just makes for such a cozy afternoon that we can spend together as a family. Scout is a big fan too.
Pro Tip: Light a candle, turn on some Christmas music, or bake some yummy cookies. Adding a few little things to the ambience will make it feel extra special.
The holidays don't have to be a drain on your time and money, there are so many ways to invite connection and creativity this season. You get to choose your own adventure.
Wishing you a blessed season!

Cultivating Gratitude in our Children
As we journey through the ups and downs of motherhood, one thing remains constant: the desire to raise compassionate, thankful, and emotionally resilient children.
Today I wanted to dive into the art of cultivating gratitude in kids, spanning all ages from toddlers to teens.
“The heart that gives thanks is a happy one, for we cannot feel thankful and unhappy at the same time.” - Douglas Wood
As we journey through the ups and downs of motherhood, one thing remains constant: the desire to raise compassionate, thankful, and emotionally resilient children.
Today I wanted to dive into the art of cultivating gratitude in kids, spanning all ages from toddlers to teens.
Gratitude Starts Young: Toddlers & Preschoolers
We often underestimate how early gratitude can be introduced to our little ones. Here are some tips for moms of toddlers and preschoolers:
Model Gratitude: Children learn by example. Express your own gratitude for the small things in life, like a sunny day or a tasty meal.
Thankful Rituals: Create a daily or weekly gratitude ritual, like sharing one thing you're thankful for during dinner. It's a simple way to instill the habit of gratitude.
Storytime: Choose books that emphasize gratitude and read them together. Discuss the stories and ask your child what they're grateful for.
Growing Up Grateful: Elementary School Kids
At this stage, children are developing a deeper understanding of emotions and the world around them. Here are some ways to nurture gratitude in elementary school-aged kids:
Journaling: Encourage your child to keep a gratitude journal. It's a great way for them to record positive experiences and reflect on what they're thankful for.
Volunteer Together: Engage in community service or volunteer work as a family. It's a hands-on way to teach children the value of giving back.
Encourage Empathy: Help your child understand the feelings of others. Discuss how their actions impact others, and teach them to appreciate the people in their lives.
Navigating Teenage Years: Raising Grateful Teens
Teenagers are at a stage where they're discovering their independence. Here are some ideas to foster gratitude in this age group:
Open Communication: Keep the lines of communication open. Ask your teenager about their day, their challenges, and what they're thankful for. Show genuine interest in their experiences.
Gratitude Challenges: Create challenges or games that encourage teens to practice gratitude. For instance, a weekly "gratitude challenge" where they share something positive from the week.
Lead by Example: Continue modeling gratitude, even during challenging times. Teens are more likely to adopt these values if they see you practicing them.
Planting seeds of thankfulness (even the smallest ones!) will always yield sweet blessings in our children's lives as they grow and mature.

Let’s embrace the season, not the stress!
As we step into the season of warmth and joy, it's easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of holiday preparations, school activities, and family commitments.

As we step into the season of warmth and joy, it's easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of holiday preparations, school activities, and family commitments.
But this year, let's take a different approach. Let's make the season truly magical (and manageable) by planning it wisely and with intention.
Here are some practical tips to simplify your schedule, ensure quality time with your loved ones, and keep stress to a dull simmer:
Prioritize Your Priorities
It's time to get crystal clear on what really matters to you and your family this season. Make a list of your top priorities, whether it's creating cherished holiday traditions, spending quality time with your kids, or savoring moments with friends. Once you know your priorities, it becomes easier to say 'yes' to the things that align with them and 'no' to the rest.
The Power of Planning
Invest some time in creating a holiday calendar, like this one. Map out the key events, traditions, and activities you want to enjoy with your family. Having a visual roadmap will help you allocate your time wisely and prevent overcommitting. Remember, it's okay to keep things simple and not attend every event or party this season has to offer.
Leave Some 'White Space'
In the quest for a perfect holiday season, we often forget to leave room for spontaneous moments and self-care. Designate some 'white space' on your calendar for downtime, relaxation, and unexpected adventures. These unplanned moments can be some of the most memorable.
The Freedom to Say 'No'
Sometimes, saying 'no' is the most empowering thing you can do. It's okay to decline invitations or commitments that don't align with your priorities or would stretch you too thin. Remember, it's more about quality, than quantity. You can enjoy many things, but not everything.
Give yourself permission this season to enjoy what's important to you and your family, minus the guilt and over-scheduling.
To help support you in this, I created this free resource: The Holiday Hustle: Your Guide to a Stress-free Season. I hope it equips and encourages you for the sweet season ahead!

5 Ways to Reduce Your Mental Load
Life as a mom can be overwhelming with countless decisions to make each day. Research states, on average people make 35,000 conscious and unconscious decisions every day. I would argue, moms easily exceed that daily average.
Today, I want to help you simplify your daily decision-making process, so you can reduce your mental clutter and focus on what matters most in your day.
Prioritize Your Decisions
Identify the most critical decisions you need to make each day. Focus your energy on those that align with your goals and values, and consider letting go of minor choices that don't significantly impact your family's well-being.
Helpful tip: Late afternoon is when decision fatigue sets in, so make decisions about afternoon activities, dinner, and bedtime early in the day when your mind is still fresh.
Create Routines and Systems
Establishing routines for everyday tasks can streamline decision making. When you create daily rhythms for you and your family, they will become habits which alleviates the need to make decisions for repetitive actions.
Helpful tip: Designing a morning routine can set a positive tone for the day and eliminates unnecessary choices. Your brain is always scanning for threats, so it will transmit a feeling of safety when routines are established and followed.
Limit Decision Options
Avoid decision paralysis by limiting your choices. Whether it's picking outfits for your kids or planning meals, having fewer options can simplify the decision-making process.
Helpful tip: A weekly dinner menu like: Taco Tuesdays, Leftover Wednesdays, or Pizza Fridays can save you loads of time and mental energy. Making these decisions once but giving yourself the freedom to change monthly or seasonally can alleviate meal boredom.
Take a Breath
Mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, can help you stay centered and focused amidst the chaos of daily life. This sense of calm will enhance your decision-making abilities.
Helpful tip: When you feel overwhelmed or unsure of what decision to make, pause and take 3 deep breaths. Neurologically this is a simple but effective reset for your brain and body to step out of fight or flight mode and give you the ability to make a clearer choice in a calmer state.
Delegate Decision Making
Involve your partner or older children in decision making whenever possible. Sharing the responsibility will lighten your load and empower others to take initiative.
Helpful tip: Make a quick list of 3-5 low hanging fruit decisions you can invite your family to help with. You may be surprised how much lighter you'll feel when you get a few things off your mental to-do list.
If you enjoyed these tips, you're going to love my "Calm the Crazy" Guide . I’ll go more in depth on how to tame your to-do list and clear your calendar clutter. You can download your free copy HERE.

Fall Declutter Challenge: 30 Days to a Cleaner, More Organized Home
As the leaves begin to fall and we spend more time indoors, it’s the perfect opportunity to declutter and refresh your home before the busy holiday season kicks in.
But the idea of tackling an entire house can feel overwhelming. That’s why this 30-day Fall Declutter Challenge is designed to break it down into manageable steps, so you can make meaningful progress without feeling stressed.
By the end of the month, you’ll have a cleaner, more organized home that feels cozy and inviting for the fall season.
Week 1: Declutter Kitchen and Pantry
The kitchen is often the heart of the home, but it can easily become cluttered with gadgets, expired food, and unused dishes.
Start the challenge by focusing on your kitchen and pantry. Go through your cabinets and drawers, and be ruthless about getting rid of items you no longer use or need. Donate duplicates or things that don’t serve your current lifestyle.
In the pantry, check expiration dates and organize items by category (e.g., baking supplies, snacks, canned goods).
This not only makes cooking more enjoyable but also helps you avoid unnecessary trips to the store.
Week 2: Tackle Closets and Seasonal Wardrobe Changes
Next, turn your attention to your closets. With the change in seasons, it’s a great time to swap out your summer clothes for fall and winter gear.
As you go through your wardrobe, ask yourself if each item still fits, is in good condition, and makes you feel good when you wear it. Donate or sell anything that doesn’t pass the test.
Organize your clothes by type or color, and consider investing in storage solutions like bins or under-bed storage for off-season items.
A decluttered closet means less time spent searching for outfits and more time enjoying the season.
Week 3: Organize Living Spaces and Entryways
Living spaces and entryways are high-traffic areas that can quickly become cluttered with daily life—shoes, bags, mail, toys, and more. This week, focus on creating systems that keep these areas tidy.
In the entryway, add hooks for coats and bags, a tray for shoes, and baskets for small items like gloves and keys.
In your living spaces, declutter surfaces like coffee tables and bookshelves, and find storage solutions for items that tend to accumulate, such as magazines, remote controls, and blankets.
A well-organized living area invites relaxation and makes your home feel more welcoming.
Week 4: Clean Out the Garage and Storage Areas
Garages and storage areas are often the most neglected spaces in the home, but they don’t have to be.
This week, tackle these areas by sorting through everything—holiday decorations, sports equipment, tools, and anything else that has been stored away.
Decide what to keep, what to donate, and what to toss. Use shelves, bins, and labels to organize what’s left, so everything has a designated place.
Clearing out these spaces can free up room for what you truly need and use, making it easier to find things when you need them.
Daily Tips: Small Daily Tasks to Keep Momentum
To make the challenge less overwhelming, incorporate small daily tasks that keep you moving forward without burning out.
Spend just 15-20 minutes each day on a specific task, like clearing out a single drawer, organizing one shelf, or going through a stack of papers. These mini declutters add up over time and help maintain the progress you’ve made throughout the month.
You Did It!
By the end of this 30-day fall declutter challenge, you’ll have transformed your home into a cleaner, more organized space that’s ready for the cozy season ahead.
The key is to take it one step at a time, celebrating each small victory along the way.
Remember, a decluttered home not only looks better but also feels better, creating a peaceful environment where you can truly unwind and enjoy the beauty of fall.
If this challenge sparked your desire to peel away more layers of clutter in your home or you’d like more personalized support in your home, reach out! Schedule a Complimentary Consult and let’s clear the clutter from your home so you can breathe easy this holiday season.

As the crisp air begins to settle in and the days grow shorter, there’s something incredibly comforting about transitioning our homes to reflect the cozy vibes of fall.
But before we dive into pumpkin-spice and everything nice, let’s take a moment to set up your home for the season ahead.
Whether you’re a busy mom juggling a million things or a woman wanting to make your space a sanctuary, these seven steps will help you organize your home and embrace the beauty of fall.
“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go." - Unknown
I love the fall season and there’s something incredibly comforting about transitioning our homes to reflect the cozy vibes of fall.
But before we dive into pumpkin-spice and everything nice, let’s take a moment to set up your home for the season ahead.
Whether you’re a busy mom juggling a million things or a woman wanting to make your space a sanctuary, these seven steps will help you organize your home and embrace the beauty of fall.
Step 1: Declutter Summer Items
The first step to welcoming fall into your home is to say goodbye to the remnants of summer. Gather up those pool toys, beach towels, and summer clothes and pack them away for next year.
This not only clears up space but also helps you mentally shift from one season to the next. Don’t forget to do a quick inventory—anything you didn’t use this summer might be worth donating.
Step 2: Organize Entryways for Fall Gear
As we transition to cooler weather, our entryways often become cluttered with coats, boots, and umbrellas. Take the time to create a dedicated space for all your fall gear.
Hooks for coats, a tray for muddy boots, and baskets for scarves and gloves will keep everything in order and make those hectic mornings just a bit smoother.
Step 3: Seasonal Wardrobe Switch
There’s something refreshing about swapping out your wardrobe with the changing seasons. Take a day to store away your summer dresses and sandals, and bring out the cozy sweaters, boots, and jackets.
While you’re at it, do a quick declutter—let go of any pieces that no longer fit or bring you joy. A well-organized closet makes getting dressed in the morning feel less like a chore and more like a pleasure.
Step 4: Create a Fall Cleaning Checklist
Fall is the perfect time to give your home a deep clean, especially before the holidays arrive.
Create a checklist that covers all the basics—dusting, vacuuming, window washing—and add in those seasonal tasks like cleaning out the fireplace or prepping the garden for winter.
Breaking it down into manageable tasks will keep it from feeling overwhelming.
Step 5: Set Up a Family Command Center for Fall Activities
Fall often brings a flurry of activities—school events, sports, and holidays. Keep everything organized by setting up a family command center.
A family calendar, a spot for incoming mail, and a place to keep important documents will ensure nothing slips through the cracks. Plus, it’s a great way to keep everyone on the same page.
Step 6: Organize Your Pantry for Fall Cooking and Baking
Fall is a time for hearty soups, comforting stews, and delicious baked goods.
Get your pantry ready by organizing your ingredients and stocking up on fall essentials like spices, canned goods, and baking supplies.
This is the perfect time to wipe down your shelves and donate foods you no longer want to store or get rid of food that’s expired.
Step 7: Add Cozy Touches: Blankets, Candles, and Fall Decor
Finally, it’s time to bring the cozy factor into your home. Drape soft blankets over your couch, light a few scented candles, and add touches of fall decor—think pumpkins, warm-toned throw pillows, and seasonal wreaths.
These simple additions create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making your home a true haven during the cooler months.
By following these seven steps, you’ll not only prepare your home for fall but also create a space that feels calm, cozy, and ready for all the season’s joys. A little organization goes a long way in helping you embrace the beauty of fall without the stress.
If you’d like more personalized support as you declutter and prepare your home for the season ahead, reach out! Schedule a complimentary 20 minute consult with me. Everyone deserves a home that feels supportive and stress-free this season.

How to Say Good-bye to Summer
Ok, so nobody panic! Summer is not ending today. But...I do want you to start thinking about how you want to say goodbye to your summer season.
Maybe this was an epic summer for you. You traveled to some fun places, snuck in some naps, and overall had a delightful time. The stars just seemed align this year.
Or...maybe this was a really hard summer for you. The kids were complaining or fighting most the time.
You felt like you spent a fortune on camps but still got zero time to yourself. In all honesty, you are just barely making it to August.
Regardless of how your summer has been, like anything in life, it's important to mark the end of a season so you can welcome the next.
In our home, we call it "Closing Ceremonies".
"Closing time, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end..." 🎶
Now that song will be in your head ALL day like it was mine.
You. Are. Welcome! 😂

Regardless of how your summer has been, like anything in life, it's important to mark the end of a season so you can welcome the next.
In our home, we call it "Closing Ceremonies".
So what exactly do closing ceremonies entail?
Well, my friend, that's the beauty of it...they can be whatever you want them to be.
You could mark the end of summer by visiting your favorite summer spot again. Perhaps it's on the beach, the lake, or even the pool.
Or you could visit that yummy ice cream shop and order the biggest ice cream sundae they have!
Maybe it's just sitting around the dinner table asking everyone to share their favorite memory of the summer and reliving the experience with them.
Our closing ceremony changes year to year, but one of my favorite ways is to mark the end of our summer with friends.
This could look like inviting our friends over for a movie night (Star Wars is always a favorite), or meeting up at our local pool and ordering pizza, or we've also met friends at a favorite restaurant and let the kids just go wild while we enjoyed some adult time.
The point being your closing ceremony can be as over-the-top or as intimate as you want, just make sure you celebrate it.
Celebrate the good, the hard, and the beautiful so you can make space for what's next to come.
The Back-to-School season can always bring up A LOT of emotions. If you’re dreading the season ahead, I’d invite you to book a complimentary consult with me. We’ll tackle your biggest challenges and create a tailored action plan for YOUR unique family. The school season doesn’t have to feel like a dumpster fire, I promise! Schedule your session today!
Always rooting for you!

The “Fix It” List
Do you have a "Fix It" list?
I was talking with one of my clients (I have the best ones!) and we were trying to reduce her mental load when it comes to managing the household.
We created a zone system for the family's evening routine but there are those pesky to-do's that aren't part of her weekly rhythm.
So I suggested a "Fix It" list.
This is a running list of items that need to be replaced, fixed, or outsourced.

She LOVED this idea!
And the most important part of this system?
Choosing the same day once a month to fix all of the things!
So now anytime she comes across something that needs to be fixed, replaced, or outsourced she can simply write it on her list and forget about it till that first Sunday.
She told me she felt so much lighter already!
This past weekend was our “Fix It” day and here’s what we tackled around the house:
Changed all the indoor air filters
Put together a new shoe rack
Detailed our mini-van
Washed all the bed linens
Decluttered our boy’s toy bin
You can tackle as little or as much as you have the energy and time for.
Does personalized support and accountability sound like something you’d love to help manage your home? If so, you can check out my services or book a complimentary consult with me.
What are your thoughts? Do you think this system would work for your household?
Always rooting for you!

6 Simple Tech Boundaries for Your Family
Mom, can I watch TV?
Anyone else hear this question 100x a day? I was an 80's kid and didn't grow up with tons of technology competing for my attention. We played outside a lot and had to find ways to overcome boredom.
But that's not the world we are raising our children in.
In today's digital age, navigating technology can be a challenge, especially when it comes to finding a healthy balance for the whole family.
Establishing tech boundaries is crucial to ensure quality time, meaningful connections, and a well-rounded family life.

But that's not the world we are raising our children in.
In today's digital age, navigating technology can be a challenge, especially when it comes to finding a healthy balance for the whole family.
Establishing tech boundaries is crucial to ensure quality time, meaningful connections, and a well-rounded family life.
Here are some ways to create healthy tech boundaries for your family.
Lead by Example: Children learn by observing their parents' behavior. Be mindful of your own tech usage and demonstrate healthy habits. When you prioritize face-to-face interactions, engage in hobbies, and limit excessive screen time, your children are more likely to follow suit.
Designate Tech-Free Zones: Create tech-free zones in your home, such as the dinner table, bedrooms, or family gathering areas. These areas become sacred spaces for meaningful conversations, relaxation, and fostering connections without the interference of technology.
Establish Tech-Free Times: Set specific periods of the day or week when all family members disconnect from their devices. This could be during meal times, before bedtime, or during family outings. Use this time to engage in activities that promote bonding, such as playing games, reading together, or going for a walk.
Create a Family Media Plan: Collaboratively create a family media plan that outlines guidelines for screen time, types of content, and age-appropriate apps and websites. Involve your children in this process to encourage ownership and understanding of healthy tech habits.
Encourage Outdoor and Active Play: Balance screen time with outdoor and active play. Encourage your children to explore nature, engage in sports, or pursue physical activities they enjoy. Engaging in active play promotes physical health, social interactions, and imaginative play.
Cultivate Alternative Hobbies and Interests: Children are made for movement so provide them with opportunities to engage in art, music, sports, or other activities that fuel their interests and help them develop new skills.
Want to dive a little deeper? Go check out books by Andy Crouch and Arlene Pellicane. You'll also find them as guests on quite a few podcasts.
Setting tech boundaries can take time. Just start with one small action today and just keep building upon that.
Are you craving a simpler rhythm to your days? I love creating unique systems for families so they feel supported at home and in their day-to-day lives. If what you’ve tried in the past just isn’t working, schedule your Complimentary 20 minute Consult. I promise motherhood doesn’t have to feel this complicated.
Always rooting for you!

Your Summer Family Movie List
"So what movie are we watching tonight?"
This is such a loaded question in our house!
And typically leads to a solid 15 minute back-and-forth negotiation between my boys on which movie they should watch for movie night.
Family movie nights are one of my favorite traditions we adopted during the pandemic.
My least favorite part is deciding on the movie. 😂 Can you relate?

It’s not about an Instagram-Worthy Home
I'm going to let you in on a little secret..
My home gets messy. *gasp*
Yup, I said it!
There are socks and shoes thrown haphazardly on the bench, our craft table is usually covered in Legos, and there are always (and I mean always) napkins scattered on the floor because my dear, sweet pup, Scout is constantly pulling them off our dining room table.
I think we all know deep down that no one's home looks Instagram-perfect all the time.
Like that's impossible.
But even equipped with that knowledge, we still hold ourselves to that perfectionist standard.

I think we all know deep down that no one's home looks Instagram-perfect all the time.
Like that's impossible.
But even equipped with that knowledge, we still hold ourselves to that perfectionist standard.
So in an effort for transparency and solidarity, I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in the mess.
And frankly, I'm thankful for it.
That might sound weird coming from a professional organizer, but it's true.
My biggest goal with my clients isn't to create a picture-perfect home. Yes, that may be an added bonus but that's not my real desire for them.
Really, I want to help women create systems in their home that support and serve them. Your home is meant to serve you, not the other way around.
Our homes are meant to be lived in. It's meant to get messy. And it's meant to be your safe haven.
So in case you needed to hear this today, I give you permission to let the dishes sit in the sink. The laundry can wait till tomorrow. Leave the toys piled on the floor.
Instead, go take a nap. Slip on your shoes and go for a walk. Find a quiet room and call a friend.
Today do something that feels supportive for you. The house can wait.
Are you overwhelmed by all the things on your to-do list but don’t know where to start? I have good news! I love all things organizing and prioritizing. Reach out and schedule a Complimentary 20 minute Consult and we’ll create a specific strategy to get you off the hamster wheel for good.
Always rooting for you!

My Favorites: Essentials for a Busy Mom
Confession: I’m an over-sharer.
One of the many things I've learned as a mom is to leverage other women's wisdom.
Y'all are some of the most resourceful humans on the planet.
I don't know any other group of people that will spend countless hours on research, ask hundreds of questions, or create so many pro/cons lists other than maybe scientists and engineers...but I think some of y'all have them beat.
Over the past few years, I've discovered I'm an over-sharer.
I love sharing resources I come across with other moms and friends. So much so, I've now trained myself to make sure I ask permission before sharing. Mainly because I don't want to come across as annoying or overwhelm anyone with too many resources.

But today, I am breaking my own rule and sharing some of my favorite resources I've come across recently.
Think of this has your "Menu of Recommendations." Pick up what's helpful and leave the rest on the table for later.
Favorite Podcasts:
These days I'm listening to two categories of podcasts (and books really): Motherhood and Business. Here are a few of my favorites to date:
Transform Your Space, Transform Your Life: Full disclosure, I was a guest on this podcast with the lovely Barbara Thompson of Self Care Studio. You'll gain lots of insight into my organizing world and walk away with lots of aha's related to your home and life.
The Middle Years: Stage 3 - Who They Are: I mean you could listen to any of Raising Boys & Girls the episodes really, they are all filled with such wisdom and encouragement. This is my current favorite since my oldest is 9yrs old. They have series for each age category, so definitely search and listen to them all.
Become a Soul Minimalist: I could listen to Emily all day long. She has the calmest voice and dispenses her wisdom so generously. This is her very first podcast and it's gold. Do yourself a favor and listen in.
How to Lazy Genius Your Whole Life: I've been a fan of Kendra Adachi's for a long time. She has super tactical ways to systemize your life. Her tag line - be a genius about the things that matter and lazy about the things that don't. This episode is full of practical take-aways.
Favorite Recipes:
Our season of life is a little busier than usual, so I am leaning into recipes that simplify my life but don't sacrifice on flavor.
Carnitas - This is still my go-to recipe whether we're expecting a big crowd or just want something a little different than regular ground beef tacos. I use the instant pot version and it's super simple - add a side of rice and black beans and it's a winner!
Overnight PB Oats - I need something quick and satisfying for breakfast in the morning and this hits the spot. I can make it ahead so my mornings are always a little less crazy, plus I never get tired of a chocolate and peanut butter combo.
Quinoa Salad - I wanted to find an easy make-ahead lunch I could bath as well. Enter Jennifer Anniston's Quinoa Salad. I'm sure I am so late to this party, but still wanted to share because it's delicious and lots of ways to customize it.
Banana Bread - This is a family favorite and never lasts long in our house. Simple ingredients, easy to whip together, and chocolate chips are always a must.
Favorite Apps:
Parent Cue - This is a free resource I always share with parents. They do a beautiful job of equipping faith-based families with conversations and activities to help cultivate a solid family culture grounded in God. They've done the heavy lifting for you, I can't recommend this app more.
Hoopla/Libby - If you have a library card you can sync it up with these apps and enjoy digital e-books or audiobooks for free. How awesome is that?! My boys and I have been listening to the Percy Jackson series and are loving it.
Peleton - Did you know you can access all of Peleton's classes for just $12.99 a month? They offer yoga, bike, gym workouts, and strength training to name just a few. Their library of classes are extensive and the instructors always bring the energy and upbeat music. They also offer a free 30 day free trial if you want to browse before you buy.
Dwell - If you're looking for a way to listen to scripture on the go, this app is for you. It is $39/year for membership but you can customize the audio voice, choose from a variety of plans to study scripture, or listen to specific books in the bible. I'm currently listening to the bible in a year - chronological order on the "David" setting.
Khan Kids - This is a great app for supplemental learning or a "busy activity" while waiting at the doctors office or making dinner. It's a free resource and your kids can learn more about their letters, reading, math, or read books. The resources are age-specific and very interactive so your kids always feel engaged.
Favorite Products:
Rechargeable Light - I love these lights! They are re-chargeable, magnetic, and have a motion-sensor setting. These would be great to use in closets, under cabinets in the kitchen or a worktable in the garage. I'm currently using them in our boys closets and love the extra light they give off, plus I don't have to remind them to turn off their lights!
Storage Game Bags - I saw another organizer tout these bags and decided to try them out. 4 stars! We had a basket full of board games and these are such a space saver. Plus they have built-in labels and enough transparency so my kiddos can still get that visual cue when lookin for a specific game. They're even big enough to fit Connect Four!
Levoit Mini Air Purifier - We recently changed out our air purifiers and are loving these. They are small, quiet, and don't look out of place in my decor. Super powerful and I can already tell a difference in the air quality in our home.
Acupressure Mat - I know it looks quirky but I've been using this mat for years and swear by it. There's a lot of science behind it, but basically it's an acupressure mat that helps you relax and fall to sleep more easily. It takes a few minutes for your body to acclimate but it's well worth it.
Trace Mineral Drops - One of my goals this year is to increase my hydration. I follow NutritionByRobyn and she mentioned these electrolyte drops. I did a little research and decided to try them. They have a slight taste, but overall I really like them. I feel naturally more energetic and can definitely tell a difference if I skip them for the day. (As with all things, please consult your doctor before trying new health supplements.)
I would love to know some of your favorite things too! I definitely need to sprinkle in more fun in my life, so share your favorite novels or podcasts you're binging below. Pretty please!
If you’re searching for more personalized support in your current season, reach out and schedule a Complimentary 20 minute consult with me. I’d love nothing more than to help create more time and contentment in your day.
Always rooting for you!

Your Simple Spring Cleaning Checklist
It's one of my favorite times of year here in Texas. The bluebonnets are in full bloom and you can catch glimpses of all the butterflies dancing among the wildflowers.
What do you love about this season?
One of the other things I love about spring, is the rhythm of renewal or reset. This gives us a chance to shake off the winter blues and welcome a lighter energy into our homes and lives.
“Despite the forecast, live like its spring." - Lilly Pulitzer

One of the other things I love about spring, is the rhythm of renewal or reset. This gives us a chance to shake off the winter blues and welcome a lighter energy into our homes and lives.
In our home, this takes shapes in a lot of different ways but one of them being a spring reset for our spaces. I always feel like I can breathe a little deeper and feel more at ease in our home.
I wanted to share some ideas of areas you can reset in your own home.
This is not a box-checking exercise. This is an invitation to see if there's an area in your home you want to give some extra attention to. If so, here are some ways you could reset the space.
My personal favorite is resetting our backyard. Potting new flowers, brings me the most joy.
Which space in your home is calling to you?

Your Living Room:

Your Bedrooms:

Family Chore Board
Create a visually appealing chore board or chart that assigns specific tasks to each family member. Involve your children in designing the board to spark their interest and sense of ownership in completing their assigned chores.
Turn Chores into Games
Transform mundane tasks into exciting games. Set a timer and challenge the family to see who can tidy up their area the fastest. Or, make a "treasure hunt" out of finding items that need to be put away.
Rewards and Incentives
Motivate your children and even yourself with rewards for completing chores. Consider a weekly treat or a fun family outing for accomplishing chores consistently. Our children are old enough now that they receive an allowance if they complete their jobs satisfactorily and with a helpful attitude.
Teamwork and Rotation
Encourage a sense of teamwork by rotating chores among family members regularly. This way, everyone gets to experience different tasks, reducing monotony. We will choose to rotate chores either on a weekly or monthly basis.
Chore Music Playlist
Create a playlist with everyone's favorite tunes to play while doing chores. Music can boost motivation and make the chores feel less like work. Some of our family favorites are Taylor Swift and The Beach Boys.
