The “Fix It” List
Do you have a "Fix It" list?
I was talking with one of my clients (I have the best ones!) and we were trying to reduce her mental load when it comes to managing the household.
We created a zone system for the family's evening routine but there are those pesky to-do's that aren't part of her weekly rhythm.
So I suggested a "Fix It" list.
This is a running list of items that need to be replaced, fixed, or outsourced.
She LOVED this idea!
And the most important part of this system?
Choosing the same day once a month to fix all of the things!
So now anytime she comes across something that needs to be fixed, replaced, or outsourced she can simply write it on her list and forget about it till that first Sunday.
She told me she felt so much lighter already!
This past weekend was our “Fix It” day and here’s what we tackled around the house:
Changed all the indoor air filters
Put together a new shoe rack
Detailed our mini-van
Washed all the bed linens
Decluttered our boy’s toy bin
You can tackle as little or as much as you have the energy and time for.
Does personalized support and accountability sound like something you’d love to help manage your home? If so, you can check out my services or book a complimentary consult with me.
What are your thoughts? Do you think this system would work for your household?
Always rooting for you!
